We are currently recruiting a Sous/Head Chef to join this friendly, award winning residential care home located between York and Harrogate. Your own transport is required due to location and public transport. This is a family owned business and they look after their employees like family, the staff turnover is extremely low and morale is high, this really is a lovely place to work if you want that work life balance. This residential home has won several awards for their care and high standards.

The role
This Sous/Head Chef vacancy has arisen due to our current Head Chef relocating out of the area, therefore we are looking to take someone on as soon as possible to work alongside our current Head Chef and team for a smooth hand over period.
You will prepare and serve healthy and nutritional fresh meals for breakfast lunch and dinner to the 35 residents of this care home. Working straight shifts, you have your evenings to your self and can enjoy a satisfying work life balance. Working hours are 7:45am-5:15pm, working 38 hours per week.
A new structure is being introduced into the kitchen so you will work closely with the current Sous Chef and both take responsibility of the management and running of the kitchen. Therefore you will have up to date knowledge on all hygiene and health and safety legislation. Understanding the importance of allergens and special dietary requirements is also essential.

The Candidate
We are looking for a passionate and self motivated Chef who enjoys preparing fresh, seasonal produce, can multi task and cope under pressure. You must have excellent communication skills and have a 'can do' attitude. Previous experience in a similar environment would be preferred but is not essential. We are ideally looking for someone with Sous Chef or Head Chef experience who has the ability to manage the kitchen on a daily basis.

Background checks and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance will be required. These can be processed upon successful application.
