Our client is a well established main building contractor based in Cardiff. They carry out a diverse range of design and build projects up to GBP20 million in value, typically across the South of the UK and Midlands.
Due to ongoing growth they have approached us with the need to recruit a Trainee or Assistant QS on a permanent basis.
Initially, your role will involve working closely with the Project QS, gaining vital exposure to key projects, whilst learning the systems and processes within the company. You will follow a structured career development path that will enable you to eventually run the commercial aspects of your own projects.
Specific duties may include:
Assisting in the preparation of tender and contract documentation.
Assisting in the preparation of valuations of work in progress and agreement of same with contractors as well as dealing with claims.
Payments to subcontractors.
Assisting in the preparation of bills of quantities/measurement.
Candidates will have some existing experience in main contracting, sub contracting or housebuilding in a Trainee or Assistant QS capacity. You may be studying on a day release basis, or be qualified to degree level already.
