An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Manager to join our team in Bath. We are looking for someone with drive and determination to make a difference. We also need you to be resilient and have strong organisational skills. Human resource management is crucial to the performance of the business, thereby ensuring we have the necessary resources to provide a quality service to our staff, passengers and stakeholders is central to our success. Essential to this is the recruitment and retention of all staff, whilst providing continued development and support. You will be responsible, for managing all operational staff in the business unit, monitoring sickness absence and disciplinary issues, as well as dealing with internal and external complaints. In order to achieve this, you will carry out performance appraisals, probationary reviews, disciplinary procedures, as well as planning and holding recruitment initiatives. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence of all staff to company policies and procedures, with a particular focus on the legal aspects relating to employment law and the Road Traffic Act. Experience of people management is essential and ideally, holding or working toward graduate CIPD status. However, we will also consider applicants with appropriate experience. Excellent people management skills, including experience of handling discipline and absence reviews. Importantly the ability to deal with people in an informal and formal manner and the ability to identify which method is appropriate to the situation.
