Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Based in Bedfordshire Job ref: AZ/36883Shift: 3pm to Midnight - Monday to Friday Salary package and benefits: Salary Range: GBP28-33k Bonus: 3% SUMMARYThe Maintenance Engineer reports into the Facilities Manager, based on site. The Engineer will form part of the Operations team and drive Operational excellence and lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of new manufacturing techniques, equipment and processes. Key responsibilities of position Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work Respond with urgency to all breakdowns and emergencies diagnosing breakdown problems Arrange procurement of parts and components relating, but not limited to machines and equipment Make recommendations to reduce machine downtime and cycle times Work with specialist equipment and suppliers, which support our machines and equipment Assist with the installation of new equipment as required Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales for machine and equipment breakdowns and improvements Liaise and work with contractors carry out planned maintenance and breakdowns Cover multiple shifts as required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCarry out routine scheduled maintenance work Respond with urgency to all breakdowns and diagnosing breakdown problems Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulations Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working efficiently and safely Arrange procurement of parts and components relating, but not limited to machines and equipment Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment Respond to emergencies, unplanned challenges and repairs Escalate machine breakdowns to appropriate managers if not resolved within agreed timescales Make recommendations to reduce machine downtime and cycle times Work with specialist equipment and suppliers, which support our machines and equipment Liaise and communicate with all departments, customers and other engineering and production departments Assist with the installation of new equipment as required Read design specifications and technical drawings Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales for machine and equipment breakdowns and improvements Liaise and work with contractors carry out planned maintenance and breakdowns Attend meetings on site as required Record, analysis and interpret data for planned maintenance and OEE measures from downtime records Assists in providing all necessary information for ISO auditors Maintain general housekeeping and safe working area.Cover multiple shifts as required Actively supports Quality Objectives and contributes to all Management System activities as assigned. QUALIFICATION GUIDELINESIdeally qualified to ONC Mechanical Engineering supported by formal apprenticeship training 5 years or more relevant experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously within set timeframes.Must be able to interact effectively and diplomatically with all company personnel under minimum supervision and be responsive to the requirements of department members and other departments with whom interaction is necessary.
