Group Health & Safety Advisor GBP32K - Logistics

Group Health & Safety Advisor required for leading family owned Freight Forwarder based in Birmingham

The Freight Forwarder have multiple UK sites - this role will be based from Bristol or Birmingham.
This role would suit an individual with a strong Health & Safety background, with relevant qualifications looking to step into a multi site Health & Safety role.

The Package :
GBP28K - GBP32K
Group Personal Pension Plan - 2% increasing to 5%.
20 Days holiday increasing to 22 days and 25 days after years service.

The Role:

To set direction and lead by example to embed a positive H & S culture, provide professional advice on issues relating to Health & Safety and co-ordinate any specialist advice needed to ensure effective implementation.
Maintain Health and Safety policies, providing training and guidance on continuing integration of the policies into general business activity, ensuring the participation and involvement of employees and their representatives.
To maintain, monitor and audit procedures for safe systems of working, risk control systems and workplace precautions in conjunction with relevant managers.
Attend specified local and Group meetings to ensure that a system is in place for all Health & Safety matters. This includes consultation with Health & Safety Representatives and Co-ordinators as appropriate.
In conjunction with local H & S Co-Ordinators, undertake risk assessments and site inspections when appropriate, identifying potential hazards and determine ways of reducing risk.
Produce and maintain internal Health & Safety Policies and strategies and compile statistics and produce reports for delivery at Group meetings and occasional Board meetings.
Deliver presentations and provide training courses for employees when required.
To offer a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers, providing appropriate, accurate information and demonstrating a professional, helpful and positive manner.
To comply and promote the Health and Safety statement of the QI procedures in all areas of responsibility.
To ensure that all documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.
To prepare and present reports and statistical information for the Management team as required.

Requirements:

NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
Logistics background
Full driving licence
