Employment Adviser - Peterborough - GBP21,000-GBP24,000Are you passionate about making a difference?Maybe you have overcome barriers within the workplace or education?Have you helped others overcome barriers?Do you want a rewarding career with one of the UK's leading employment businesses?Reed in Partnership is a well-established, successful provider of public services that support the personal, social and professional development of individuals, businesses, families and communities.As an Employment Advisor at Reed in Partnership you will be supporting the long-term unemployed and economically inactive residents in the local community to find sustainable employment opportunities, and as a result, transforming their lives for the better.Working on this new voluntary participation programme, your responsibilities will include:• Engaging and registering candidates and thereafter supporting these individuals to improve their employability and progress them into sustained employment. • You will provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) in both an individual and group setting and will coach, mentor, support and signpost as required to achieve outcomes.• You will have the ability to quickly build rapport with those who join our programmes. You'll need empathy of course, but also the ability to motivate people, question their assumptions and sometimes change their perception of working.• Together with this you will be focused on meeting and exceeding your targets for employment outcomes. So proven ability to work in a results-driven and fast-paced environment is essential. • You should also bring solid experience in a customer-facing role, along with strong organisational skills and an assertive and resilient approach. • Experience of recruitment or employment advice would be welcomed, though it's not a must. Desired Skills/Attributes:• Experience of working in a customer facing environment, e.g. Customer Services Assistant, Retail Assistant. • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment, e.g. Employment Adviser, Recruitment/Sales Consultant, Telesales, Business to Business/Consumer Sales, etc.• Technical skills include strong administrative abilities, IT literate, basic numeracy and good written communication. • Willingness to travel locally (e.g. to meet customers/employers). Strong sales / influencing / persuasion skills.• Previous experience of a working in a similar role in Welfare to Work or publically funded services is desirable.• Ideally you will have a relevant advisory and/or training qualification e.g. Award in Education & Training (formally PTLLs Level 3), NVQ Advice & Guidance or equivalent.Ideally a degree in relevant subjects or equivalent, e.g. Sociology, Social Care etc.• This position includes a high level of outreach across Greater London.
