Technical Manager
Projects: Housing
Salary: GBP55k+ with excellent benefits package
Location: Nottinghamshire
A Technical Manager is required to manage the delivery of residential projects in Nottinghamshire from initial conception through to the projects completion.
Duties will include:
* providing technical support to the development team and assist during feasibility studies.
* Identify external consultant requirements (Planners, Architects, Engineers etc), agree fees, service agreements and appoint.
* Produce a detailed design programme
* Manage consultants and ensure prompt timescales
* Produce design information
* Act upon commercial implications relating to planning, architectural design, civil and structural engineering design, geotechnical and ground remediation strategies, statutory services and new supplies and diversions.
* Oversee and control planning applications to the local authority
* Control the submission of Building Regulations and warranty applications
* Provide sales team with drawing/specification information. support to ensure the correct sales literature is provided
* Coordinate transfer plans, management plans for sales packs., and liaising with solicitors and sales department.
* Tender for and set up site management companies using the establish procedures
* Coordinate all legal aspects in relation to various agreements, section 38, 104. 278 etc and arrange bonds, guarantees, warranties and insurance as required.
* Apply for and obtain new postal addresses
* Chair and lead monthly project meetings and regular design meetings
The Technical Manager must have a strong technical knowledge base. Ideally from a technical design background, either architectural or civil engineering, ideally both. Candidates from a project management / qs background may also be considered.
It is essential to have experience working for a high volume house builder and be educated to HND/HNC Level.
