M and E Construction Manager / Project Manager required to work for a well-established main contractor based near Runcorn. The Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager / Contracts Manager will work from my client's offices based near Warrington and will be required to attend sites throughout the UK and manage a team of Engineers.
The Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager must have experience of delivering mechanical and electrical installation projects, projects will predominantly be student accommodation blocks. The Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager will be tasked with cost control, producing weekly reports, estimating/specifying for new projects, managing sub-contractors, preparing Mechanical and Electrical design specifications and liaising with utility companies regarding energy tariffs.
The Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager must hold strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems such as heating systems, utilities, pumps, valves, cooling systems, lighting and Pipework. The Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager must possess an HND, Degree or equivalent qualification.
M and E Construction Manager/ Project Manager Position Overview
- Arrange statutory authority services, disconnections and new connections
- Prepare mechanical and electrical design specifications for tendering
- Liaise between utility companies and site for co-operation of incoming services
- Co-ordinate and manage mechanical and electrical sub-contractor designs
- Assist Quantity Surveyors and contract managers during project
- Liaise with members of the design team
- Improve cost controls on mechanical and electrical sub-contracts
- Improve energy tariffs on all new and existing energy services (gas and electric)
- Liaise with Estimating Department on estimating costs for new projects
- Attend site project meetings weekly to discuss and monitor schedules
- Produce weekly progress reports on Mechanical & Electrical for Project Managers
- Visit site in accordance with project schedule
M and E Construction Manager/ Project Manager Position Requirements
- Qualified to degree or HND level ideally
- Previous experience of managing M&E Installations & Sub-Contractors.
- Strong management skills
- Good understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical
- Happy to travel to various sites throughout the UK.
