Principal Consultant
The Company:
A global marketleading provider of infrastructure, consultancy and software solutions to the energy industry. The solutions help energy customers, throughout the EMEA region, carry out critical business functions like planning, simulation and forecasting, as well as commercial operations of their assets.
The Role:
Exciting opportunity to lead the introduction of a software product for bidding and settling, which has already been proven in other countries, to the UK wholesale electricity market. In this role, you will be heavily involved in concept development of the product, gain commercial experience, and have excellent global opportunities for rapid career progression.
The Principal Consultant will be responsible for analysing and researching UK market requirements, as well as how the system has been implemented in other markets, before writing a business case demonstrating how the solution should be brought to the UK market.
The Principal Consultant will then work closely with product development writing specifications to adapt the software to best fit the market structure and client requirements. You will lead the product to market through presales activities (product demonstrations, presentations, vendor workshops).
Other key accountabilities include:
* Being single point of contact for the EMEA region to the Global Product Manager.
* Conducting regular internal and external product status update meetings.
* Directing work of other consultants where required.
* Building a strong network within the wholesale market.
* Attending and actively participating in market events and workshops.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree qualified in IT or an analytical subject.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in analyst / consulting / implementation / project management / presales roles within the energy sector.
* Good working knowledge of the GB wholesale electricity market, in terms of market structure, Trading & Settlement code, market operations, solutions used to support these and typical business drivers and business processes of the market participants.
* Existing relationships with wholesale electricity market participants especially in the UK market.
* Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Good understanding of the competitive landscape of market solutions vendors within GB wholesale electricity market.
* Appreciation for IT business models and how procurement decisions are made by energy companies.
* Previous experience with SAAS / cloud solutions and the agile development lifecycle.
* Experience working internationally.
