Logistics ManagerLocation: Harlow, Essex Position: Logistics Manager Salary/Rate: GBP38,000-GBP42,000 Type: PermanentAdecco are currently recruiting for a Logistics Manager on behalf of our award winning client based in Harlow, Essex. This is a full time, permanent position within a globally recognised, open minded business. Main Purpose of Role:The Logistics Manager is responsible for all operations within the Logistics MBU with responsibility for people leadership, safety, warehouse activities, product quality and on time delivery to ensure customer satisfaction. Areas of responsibility include:*Provide leadership within the Logistics organisation to ensure achievement of customer requirements and on time delivery.*Ensure logistics activities remain flexible and able to cope with swings in demand.*Further develop lean manufacturing activities, working with the Operations Team, and drive focus on quality, cost reduction & continual improvement. *Ensure the appropriate focus is placed on EHS issues, and drive improvement in performance and attitudes.*Create policies or procedures for logistics activities.*Ensure the warehouse is optimized and stock is stored and rotated appropriately*Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records *Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.*Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.*Provide Logistics expertise to the entire organization*Participate in carrier the management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation *Support continuous improvement activities across the area through visible engagement in the application of a range of tools, including kaizen events, 5S, 20 Keys, and other appropriate activities.*Champion compliance with established processes and procedures, and continually seek opportunities to enhance performance through process improvements.*Support the training requirements of the MBUIdeal candidate and personal qualities:*Proven marketing experience within a similar role, ideally from a Manufacturing/ engineering background.*Commercially minded. * Strong team player, capable of building strong working relationships with the Supply Chain & Manufacturing team members. *Pro-active with the ability to work independently.
