Are you an experienced supervisor with strong operational and strategic ability? Do you have experience of predicting trends, analysing data and building external supplier relationships? Do you enjoy supervising, motivating and managing a team? ABOUT THE ROLE This is a role of critical importance within the organisation but is a fairly unique role unlike any other logistics/operations role. You would have responsibility for a department which is responsible for booking private sites for a large sales force so that they can set up stands/gazebos at events, shows etc. We book about 200 sites per week - some of the bookings may last a week, others are just for one day. Ensuring that they have enough of the right venues of the right quality in the right places every day is a skill which does not rely solely upon the booking processes and this is where you come in!! You will be expected to analyse the transactions and the figures and be responsible for looking at the geographics, the seasonal trends and variations etc The right candidate will have the ability to: Manage a team of centrally-based and remote venue bookers - a motivator, a man manager Establish processes and procedures to ensure we book the best venues early Have the flexibility to amend and top up bookings to marry up with demand Sensitivity to regional variations; ability to develop local/regional strategies to support the national strategy Critically analyse data to understand what works and what doesn't in order to maximise yeild Utilise internally-developed CRM system and help guide the development of that system Manage external agencies Deal calmly with any day-to-day issues which may arise Be imaginative in seeking out new potential venue opportunities Be capable of gearing the team up for expansion Be happy dealing with detail when needed Be resilient - dealing with the field sales force Juggle lots of competing challenges Manage change Accept uncertainty / volatility
