Materials and Process Engineer

The Role:

* To act as the interface between final Customer and Project Team for Materials and process for Materials and Processes
* To undertake subcontractors data pack reviews for various Project milestones (PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR etc.) for all subsystems comprising the Spacecraft and acting as M&P technical authority
* To compile Spacecraft level M&P database
* To lead M&P audits and chair M&P review meetings with subprimes and Final Customers participation (e.g. MPCB Materials and Process Control Boards).
* To provide M&P support to the Project Team for resolutions of nonconformances (NCRs, NRBs) RFWs (Requests for Waivers) & RFA (Request for Approval) for all subsystems comprising the Spacecraft.
* To provide M&P expertise during tender evaluation reviews or kickoff meetings for selecting new subcontractors.
* To travel overseas to attend/conduct M&P and Project level review boards by assessing risks for the use of critical Materials and/or processes

Experience
* Considerable demonstrable experience as M&P Engineer
* Experience of dealing with suppliers and subcontractors (in the M&P field)
* Ability to interface with Prime Client (e.g. ESA)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

* Degree level materials science/ Materials Engineering
* Excellent communications skills both written and oral
* Demonstrable ability to organise and direct the course of technical meetings.
* Ability to interface with Prime client
* Fluent written and spoken English

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

* Knowledge of ESA databases and ESAs M&P standards and specifications
