Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business.

Based in Dartford, this role will report into the Commercial Manager and work on one of our projects.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:

• Oversee contract negotiations (new and existing contracts) including compliance with the Group's GMCEs and the Group's Gated Business Life-cycle environment.
• Ensure the commercial staff on each project have the relevant level of support and are adequately qualified to fulfil the requirements of the project.
• Advise the Project Manager and Commercial Manager early, of any potential over-spends, non-compliances and any other problem areas on the project or projects under your control.
• Take responsibility within the Project Teams to ensure projects are set-up on the company accounting system with a suitable Work Breakdown Structure in line with OPSTAT guidelines.
• Take responsibility for the collection of cash and pursuit of certificates from clients in a timely manner, in order to maximise the company's cash flow position.

Who we're looking for
You will:

• Be an energetic, positive person with a wish to solve problems and comply with procedures.
• Have a commercial diploma or degree
• Have a proven record of experience running projects and managing / leading a team.
• Have the ability to generate, develop and manage professional services agreements, sub-contract agreements and obligations.
• Have a full driving licence
