QA Automation Engineer

QA Automation Engineer - York Start Date - Immediate It isn't every day that an opportunity like this one comes around. Due to continued expansion, an industry leading media technology company is looking for a proactive, self-starting, QA Automation Engineer to join their office in York.You will be involved in projects which push the boundaries of current technology. A large part of this process is automated testing, ongoing tooling and test definition to cover new functionality. You will be integral to a company that does things the right way; solid engineering practice using the latest agile and continuous deployment approaches is their passion.The Role: You will be responsible for feature file and step definition provision, execution, defect logging, tracking and reporting on the projects that you are assigned too. It will be down to you to update the project manager, or QA Lead about the progress of testing, and any associated risks. You will be responsible for attending any product meetings, including, amongst others sprint planning, daily stand up meetings, showcases and retrospectives, or standard weekly project meetings. You will alert the QA Lead or Project Manager to any issues on the product including showstopper defects, changes to timescales etc. You will assist with defining the test outline for the product including identification of the environments, toolsets and kit needed for the test.Skills/Knowledge: You will have extensive QA knowledge. Significant knowledge of automated test approaches including Selenium, Ruby, Cucumber, Capybara or Calabash. Full understanding of software development methods and techniques including, Ruby, GIT, Jira, httpparty or Charles and Fiddler.The Company: This is an excellent opportunity to work within an industry leading company which fosters a friendly culture and encourages communication and innovation.
