Jubilee House has a unique opportunity available for a Waking Night Support Worker to join team based in Welwyn Garden City. The role is a part time, permanent position offering a salary of £9.40 - £9.90 per hour.

The purpose of the Waking Night Support Worker role is to provide high quality person centred support and care which enables people to live their life in the way they choose.

What are the responsibilities of the Waking Night Support Worker?

- To provide waking night support alongside the sleep-in where provided, taking responsibility for all aspects of the services users, safety and security of their service/home. Identifying and reporting risks.

- To act as an immediate response for service users/tenants in the event of health or any other emergency.  Ensuring a prompt and appropriate response to ensure health, safety and wellbeing of the individual.

- To assist with the personal care of the individual service users as defined in the individuals support plan, ensuring respect and dignity for the service user at all times.

- To administer medicines, if and required after the appropriate training.

- To undertake any domestic duties as required, following a cleaning schedule.

- To regularly monitor service users/tenants during the night, paying attention to their safety, comfort and well-being and ensuring monitoring records are completed accurately and promptly; verbally in hand over, written and electronically.

- To work as a role model at all times following Company policies, legislations and regulations.

- To report changes/concerns or hazards immediately following our reporting procedure

- To participate in Waking Night Care meetings, team meetings, full Staff meetings and company day meetings.

- To take responsibility for your role.

- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.

What skills do I need to have to become a Waking Night Support Worker?

- To have the ability to participate in the assessment of people’s needs and contribute towards the implementation of their individual support plans.

- To have the ability to work with people in a supportive and informative  way

- To have the ability to communicate  verbally in hand over, written and electronically with both service users and staff team

- To be able to record information accurately, both written and numerical.

- To be able to work during the night with flexibility to be able to attend meetings and supervisions during day time hours.

- To have an empathetic approach to people with disabilities.

- Experience in supporting individuals

- To be able to write clear and accurate records.

- Experience with working in a learning disability environment

- Have a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care level 2 or 3 or be willing to work towards the qualification
