Position: CAD Design Engineer Inventor
Location: North East / Crewe
This innovative and industry leading company are looking for a Design Engineer to join the innovation team. The Design Engineer will take an integral role in new product development developing innovation in new and existing product lines. The Design Engineer is responsible for designing solutions to meet customer demands in the rail sector. The CAD Engineer will prepare detailed design work and liaise with other members of the innovation team. The Design Engineer will undertake design work from feasibility to site preparation and testing.
To take up this role the Design Engineer must be able to demonstrate:
- To liaise with service cells to develop best practice for product build and design.
- To design in 3D CAD using Autodesk Inventor.
- Preferably also skilled in AutoCad Electrical to generate schematics and wiring diagrams
- Input BOM's from AutoCad
- Implementation of Electrical and/or Mechanical design concepts from conceptual design to full customer approval.
- To generate documentation to support the project i.e. Document Change Notes, Document Log Sheets, Drawing Log Sheets and BOMs.
- To support production in review of prototype build information to enable reductions in production built time/process prior to formal drawing release.
- Generate initial customer drawings of new designs to support future customer orders.
