Who we are

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

Who we are looking for

We need reliable and passionate people to join our close-knit team of Support Workers, supporting people out in the community, as well in their own homes. You’ll help them cook, clean, pay bills, apply for jobs, make friends and a thousand things in between.

Not got any experience?

Don’t worry! Those new to care will be fully supported. Our comprehensive training programme offers everyone – regardless of previous knowledge and experience – the chance to create a career they can be proud of.

What we need from you

You need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect. You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills. Drivers are essential although you don't necessarily need to have your own car.

The benefits

The biggest benefit we offer is the chance to work with people who make you laugh and smile every day – in fact, in a recent survey of new starters, 84% said they would consider recommending a friend to join United Response. But if you need more convincing, here’s the full package:

  • 20 days paid annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), pro rata for part-time, which increases after 3 and 5 years’ service
  • Pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Access to free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling and advice services
  • Fully paid training and access to nationally recognised qualifications
  • Travel to work scheme (season ticket loan)
  • Access to an online shopping platform with discounts from over 3,500 retailers

So what are you waiting for? Apply now!

We will be short-listing and interviewing on a regular basis so don’t wait until the closing date.

The closing date is the 16th April 2017.
