We are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team of Senior Support Workers (Communicator Guides) in Liverpool and surrounding areas. This opportunity is to work 10 hours per week (part time) on a permanent basis, within a Community setting.

Sense is a national charity that supports people who are deafblind, those with sensory impairments and those with complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives.
About the role
We are looking for people to join our team of adaptable and motivated individuals with great communication skills to help make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
The support you will provide may in someone’s home, their local community or work setting and personal care may be required.
Senior Support Workers (Communicator Guides) offer guiding skills, practical help and communication support to people with acquired deafblindness – such as helping with shopping, dealing with mail, accessing social and leisure activities – to enable deafblind people to continue to live as independently as possible and decrease isolation.
You must be able to work flexible hours to suit the service requirements and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.

About you and what we offer
We would like to hear from you if you have experience of working with vulnerable people and ideally have experience of working with people with a sensory impairment.
A willingness to develop your skills in all communication methods is an essential part of this role. You will need to be able to creatively solve problems that may arise using a person-centred approach and ideally have experience of using person-centred planning tools.
You must be enthusiastic, adaptable and friendly with a commitment to ensuring the individual you work with get the best out of their lives.
The ideal candidate will hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
