Due to continued expansion they are now recruiting for a Plant Engineering Supervisor to join their team at their site in Frome, Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible to operate, inspect and maintain the plant in order to produce materials which comply with the company quality specifications. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an established and reputable company. Although not essential, this may be suited to candidates coming from an Armed Forces background i.e. Royal Navy (Marine Engineer), British Army (Royal Engineer/REME), Royal Air Force (Aircraft Technician), with proven experience as team leader/supervisor and a strong mechanical/plant engineering background. Responsibilities: - Plan the next day's production according to customer requirements and plant capabilities.- Start-up & shut-down routines and maximising throughput within the capacity of the plant.- Inspection & monitoring of plant in accordance with the site regime.- Maintenance and repair of the plant within their scope and competence & keep accurate records in accordance with management requirements.- Re-fuelling of machines - both static and mobile.- Operation of mobile plant - FEL for loading and plant feed & dumper for mineral movement.- Operate machines in a safe and proper manner.- Undertake maintenance works to static and mobile plant as required.- Manage day to day requirements for contractor hire. Applicant Requirements:Essential:- Proven Heavy Engineering background with mechanical bias, with relevant qualification to NVQ Level 2.- Strong team leadership/supervisory skills.- Health & Safety knowledge.- Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail.- Excellent communication skills.- Highly organised. - Decision maker with the ability solve problems.- Committed and flexible approach.Desirable:- Certification by EPIC to operate mobile plant.- NVQ level 2 in mobile plant operations required following EPIC completion.- NVQ level 2 in process operations - static asphalt plant- SHE Management NVQ level 3 Benefits:- ??Competitive Salary.- Monday to Friday - 39?? hours.- Bonus.- 27 days annual leave + bank holidays.- Pension Scheme.- Opportunity to work for an established and reputable company.
