This is a challenging role working for a successful business based out of Yeovil but will require UK and overseas travel. The role requires the experienced candidate to provide quality design drawings and site surveys, that conform to BIM standards. Client Details The company is based in Yeovil and specialises in the high end shop fitting and design market. Description The main duties of the role are as follows; To regularly receive a design brief from within the business, discuss and negotiate with Technical Design (BIM) Manager to identify the course of action for the design need - internal/external To interact and work closely with key stakeholders (Relationship Managers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators) using the support of our Approved Inspectors to provide technical assistance as required To establish relevant levels of drawing/technical information required for individual projects both for the client and manufacturer To establish relevant levels of drawing/technical information required for individual projects both for the client and manufacturer To carry out site surveys of retail projects, drawing up the site survey detail and producing a detailed set of drawings (which include elevations, GA, RCP, door schedules, floor schedules etc.) Create and develop 2D & 3D working drawings from sketches, surveys or descriptions from our clients or project managers. To review own drawings for completeness prior to checking from team members and maintain all revisions of project drawings. To manage the design expectations in light of the customer requirements and prioritise personal work allocations accordingly (frequently updating the resource software) To adhere to BIM standards by modelling, detailing and as appropriate creating Revit families in response to project needs Profile The ideal candidate will be able to carry out the role to the highest possible standards. Our expectation is to find an individual who is fully proficient in Revit who can survey and design layouts for our retail clients. We have seen a huge variety of candidates who have said they are fully proficient however when we have tested them their design quality has been weak. The company has a far reaching client base, with surveys taking place anywhere in the UK, France and Germany. Travel costs and expenses associated with travel, accommodation etc to the survey would be covered. When not surveying we would like the individual to be based in our Yeovil offices. The successful candidate must demonstrate a proactive, intelligent approach to work in a fast paced environment. The individual needs to be charismatic and work well alone and in a team.Demonstrating significant experience in Revit, experience with surveying ideally in a retail environment. Desirable: Training in Autocad, good knowledge of the Adobe suite and experience with faro and product design skills would be beneficial. Job Offer A salary of ??30-40K depending on experience. The role would be based initially on a 3 month contract
