Multi Skilled Engineer ??36,000 Chard gap commercial are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a multi-skilled engineer to work at their facility based in Chard Performance Objectives Improve reliability of all site plant and machinery to achieve KPIs Take a lead role in ensuring the implementation of the planned plant maintenance programme and OEE; Carryout engineering projects that will improve OEE levels and reduce downtime Ensure all site equipment and services perform to optimum levels and comply with Health & Safety standards, as well as complying with food safety requirements Provide responsive diagnostic and problem solving skills to ensure continuous production and efficient production and services; Investigate reasons for breakdown and recommend preventative improvements; attend breakdowns if required including out of expected working hours Develop and implement plans to continually improve the engineering standards on site; be a strong advocate for CI initiatives Review project instructions and blueprints as required Estimate costs factors for materials, testing and installation etc Health & Safety Prepare and continually update risk assessments of all equipment, services and processes Proactively promote high standards of Health and Safety awareness and compliance; ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to Environmental Be proactive in identifying and implementing energy saving initiatives, waste reduction, elimination and/or recycling Skills/Qualification Industry experience to demonstrate skills equivalent to JIB approved Electrical Technician 16th or 17th IEE Demonstrable relevant Health and Safety knowledge in e.g. COSHH, Abrasive Wheels reg, PUWER, Food Hygiene Specification To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong background in maintenance and reliability PLC fault finding and programming (e.g. Schneider Pro 7 and Mitsubishi IEC GX developer) Automated process equipment Automated packing equipment Computer literate - Outlook, Word, Excel; Auto Cad Drawing Preventive Maintenance Systems Stock Control and Ordering Project Management Continuous Improvement systems Relevant Food Industry Experience, e.g. pasteurising machinery Successful experience of implementing lean processes and procedures e.g. 5S, 6S, Kanban, Kaizen, in an FMCG environment Good working knowledge of pneumatics
