About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Manager to join our Major Highways team to work on the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme based in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire.

What you'll be doing
As a Utilities Manager you will:

  • Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and make suggestions for improvements as appropriate
  • Liaise with Stats bodies regarding timely completion for diverting existing apparatus
  • Implement systems and processes to support construction of the works in accordance with the specification (eg Materials Approval, NCR, Handover Documentation)
  • Produce stats removal/de-commissioning plan to maximise effectiveness of trial holes and minimise working in the vicinity of live services.

Who we're looking for
You will:

  • Understand method statements and risk assessments, able to develop new and improved safe systems of work
  • Be able to apply an understanding of relevant permit procedures when assessing and signing permit applications
  • Have experience interacting with utility service owners and senior site management regarding utilities in a professional manner
  • Be able to attend planning meetings and raise and answer queries relating to the interface of the planned operations and the known site utilities
  • Have awareness of procurement practice
