Are you looking for a role where your talents as an experienced communications all-rounder can benefit tens of thousands of families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people?
Family Fund is the UK's largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people - providing over 89,000 grants and services worth over GBP36 million in 2015/16.
As Senior Communications Officer, you will work with our Head of Communications to lead on delivering Family Fund's communications and marketing activities. This includes our marketing and outreach work (including events), digital and social media activity, supporter engagement, and media and profile-raising opportunities. You will use the feedback from our families to make powerful cases for support and help realise funding income from programmes and opportunities.
Your other responsibilities as Senior Communications Officer include assisting with managing media relations and coverage to strengthen the reputation of Family Fund and improve brand awareness locally and nationally, as well as supporting the development and monitoring of brand guidelines and key messages. You will also help ensure website content is up to date and appropriate, suggesting improvements to functionality and advising colleagues on maximising its potential.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you have exceptional writing, communicating, networking and creative skills, with the ability to handle pressure and work to tight deadlines. You're a forward thinking, enthusiastic person who can prioritise and manage multiple activities, a great team player and able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
This Senior Communications Officer post is based in York.
The closing date for applications is 31 March 2017.
