About the Senior Front End Developer role

You will be developing, maintaining and supporting browser based solutions. To contribute to the proactive enhancement of the front-end aspects of CDL’s generic browser solutions whilst also producing solutions to fulfil the requirements of individual customers. You will be working on our flagship web product, but will also work on other systems from time to time, providing support and consultancy to more junior members of the team, working with our design team you will be responsible for delivering engaging solutions across a range of devices.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Front End Developer

- Bachelor’s Degree in Web Development or related subject

- Relevant specialist browser based development skills and knowledge of browser based development processes gained through formal training

- Proven ability of complex, function-rich website creation and related programming skills, preferably within an Insurance related role

- Proven ability of working with the latest releases of HTML, XHTML, and CSS

- Proving ability of using JavaScript and libraries such as JQuery to produce dynamic functionality within websites.

- Experience of complex UI developments using advanced JavaScript techniques

- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.JS, React.JS, or Node.JS

- Proven ability of dealing with cross-browser compatibility issues to produce websites that function equally well in any modern supported browser

- Proven ability of working with XML files as a means of storing configurable data items within an application

- Be proficient in using front end testing tools such as Cucumber

- Communication skills – Ability in communicating with internal clients and line management

- Experience of working in an agile environment.

Bonus points for this Senior Front End Developer role will include candidates who have previous experience of updating front-end architecture of high traffic websites, full stack development experience and awareness of Accessibility standards.
