They’re always looking for ways to improve though, especially in an increasingly competitive market, so they have asked us to help in their search for a new Commercial Director who will bring fresh ideas and impetus to the whole sales and account management function.
This is a completely new role for a leading outsourcing and professional services company. They provide products and services to both organisations and institutions across the UK. This is a chance to take a brilliant, proven service offering and make improvements to how it is marketed, sold and delivered; it’s the sort of opportunity that really doesn’t come up very often at all.
Most clients and prospective clients have in recent years adopted a more structured bid and tender process, often mimicking large blue chip tender processes.
This person will be responsible for developing the commercial tender offering for new and existing clients therefore, to make sure that the company is competing effectively in that space. You’ll have autonomy to recommend and make changes to ensure it really is best practice internally.
With contract values ranging from £50K to £1M and contract lengths of 3 to 5 years this is a lucrative area. You will work alongside the Head of Business Development to ensure new relationships are forged and will manage a team of Client Managers ensuring existing relationships are maintained to a high level. You will have excellent presentation and communications skills and will bring a commercial aptitude to the business.

The most suitable candidate for this role will likely be working for a company offering products, services and/or solutions into a mix of clients. You will have experience working on commercial tenders for either private or public sector clients. You will be working as a Commercial Director currently or equivalent Commercial Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Account Director or Channel Manager type role.
