St Peter's Church has been a centre of Anglican praise, worship and outreach for nearly 200 years, and this role will be key to continuing that work and discipling a new generation.
St Peter's is situated near the A40 between High Wycombe and Beaconsfield. Our congregation of nearly 200 is drawn in roughly equal proportions from our parish and from the surrounding area. We are recruiting for a new post of coordinator of our witness and outreach to children, young people and families. This role will be critical to ensuring that both the staff team and our committed and enthusiastic congregational volunteers are engaged, motivated and equipped to deliver life changing witness to families in our community.
Key Responsibilities - The post holder must envision, communicate, plan, and coordinate activities to proclaim the Gospel to young families beyond the church, and to nurture the spiritual growth, most especially of children and young people. The appointee will be part of all aspects of our outreach to, and work with, young people and families, including enhancing our use of all forms of communication including social media.
Profile - The successful candidate will be an approachable, outgoing and innovative, committed, spirit filled, Christian with experience of planning teaching programmes and social events, of assembling, motivating and leading teams, and of coordinating multi-component events both on church premises and elsewhere. A clean driving licence is very highly desirable. This post necessitates working on Sundays and some evenings.
Benefits - Pleasant working environment and a friendly and supportive staff team.
Salary - in the range GBP26-32,000 (pro rata if part time) depending on qualifications and experience.
This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service and has occupational requirement to be filled by a committed Christian, active in church life. Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9 applies.
