The company is an internationally renowned organisation with a worldwide reputation in the manufacture of high quality precision measuring instruments, hand tools, bandsaws, and holesaws. A vacancy has arisen within their precision optical department.
Job Role:
They are looking to appoint a skilled machinist - CNC Programmer to join their manufacturing facility in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders.
The successful candidate will work within the Optical Projector cell, where primary responsibility will be to ensure that all projectors, vision systems and specials are manufactured in accordance with the customer specification and due date and/or in accordance with the production plan and to the specified quality standards.
Duties will include surface and cylindrical grinding; vertical and horizontal milling; centre lathe turning; CMM component inspection; CNC programming for Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
Core hours of work will be 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 12.30pm each Friday, equating to 37.5 per week.
The Candidate:
You should have an understanding of optical engineering and a basic understanding of final inspection, as well as the skills required to undertake the duties above. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, along with a proven track record of adhering to deadlines whilst following instruction and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
