Our client is one of the largest privately owned suppliers of steel fabricated products in the UK. Customers range from multi-national OEMs to small start-ups.
The ISO 9001:2000 accredited factory has complete pre-production design and prototyping facilities meaning that they can take a basic idea or drawing and turn it into a product that can be fully manufactured and productionised. They benefit from all the latest manufacturing techniques and equipment including CAD CAM systems, laser profiling, forming, CNC machining and both manual and robotic welding.
Our client is now seek a strong Financial Controller with the plan for there to be swift progression to the role of Finance Director.
Reporting directly to the board and overseeing the finance function, the Financial Controller will liaise directly with the purchasing, production planning and manufacturing functions to ensure that the finance function integrates appropriately with the output goals of the Company.
Producing monthly management information to include profit and loss and balance sheet, variances to budget and associated narrative, you will prepare rolling turnover and profit forecasts, working closely with other departments to understand predictions of costs and revenues whilst carrying out cashflow forecasting and cash management. Taking responsibility for key overhead budgets (to include maintaining best value principles in relevant cost areas), you must prepare or review annual audit working papers and liaise with external auditors to ensure the timely production of statutory accounts.
You must also carry out any company secretarial tasks as appropriate and support any special projects as required by the Board.
Candidates for this role must be ACA / ICMA / ACCA qualified with proven experience gained within a manufacturing environment and excellent interpersonal skills. Familiar with the operations of SAP systems, you should have strong organisational and management skills and be capable of meeting key deadlines.
Working hours:
07.30 – 17.30 Monday to Thursday, 3 out of 4 weeks
Week 4: 11.30 – 17.30 Mon, 07.30 – 17.30 Tue to Thursday, and 08.00 – 12.00 Friday
Flexibility and overtime will be required.
