Wilmington Primary School is a one form entry, independent academy school for 4-11 year olds. It has a 210 pupil capacity, in the heart of the village. Pupils, staff, parents, governors and volunteers agree that our strength is our community spirit, which creates a caring, supportive and happy environment. Quoted in our current Ofsted report, a teacher commented 'The teaching staff and support staff all work as a team. This is why we are a happy school with happy children. A team I am proud to be part of'.

We are looking to welcome a new teacher to our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fun and highly supportive group of dedicated people, to begin or further develop your career.

We are lucky to have very supportive parents and confident, well-behaved and delightful children to teach. Our motto is 'sharing and caring as we learn together'. We aim to provide education in a caring and interesting environment, that will motivate all children to maximise their learning opportunities.

We can offer you a great opportunity to develop your teaching career with us and look forward to welcoming you to the school. We would encourage all applicants to come and visit the school so we can show you how special we are and to answer any questions you may have. To arrange a visit, please contact either Carol Brown or Joanne Reynolds on .

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.

Information about the school

We are a one form entry Primary School at the centre of Wilmington village. The school is very welcoming with motivated and well behaved children, an enthusiastic and friendly staff team, dedicated and supportive governors and many willing parents who give time and energy to provide financial, social and academic enrichment across the curriculum.

The building has easy and safe staff parking, a brand new kitchen serving restaurant quality lunchtime meals and a large tree lined, landscaped field. The school is a stand-alone academy with a spacious hall, 30 computer station ICT suite and a Creative Room to help drive our belief in providing a stimulating creative curriculum linking literacy and numeracy across the wide range of subject themes. The Ofsted inspection of June 2015 was graded good (reading was considered outstanding). A good staff work-life balance is a school priority.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
