Environmental Coordinator

Would you like to provide environmental support to a site where interesting products are manufactured? We currently have a vacancy for an Environmental Coordinator at our site in Glascoed.

As an Environmental Coordinator, you will be developing on-site processes and Control Of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) safety reports for the site in readiness to submit to the Competent Authority (CA). The CA is made up of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

This role offers plenty of opportunities for development and progression. You will be meeting a large variety of people, enabling you to develop your professional network.


Your main responsibilities as an Environmental Coordinator will involve:

Ensuring the environmental sections of the Glascoed COMAH reports are reviewed and updated as necessary in readiness for the next submission of the reports to the Competent Authority

Providing support to the Process Safety team and the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) team

Providing a common approach and best practise to the COMAH process for the site

Developing COMAH safety reports for processes on site

Liaising with other functions at all levels in the business in order to raise COMAH awareness

Promoting a positive SHE culture and behaviours within the organisation


Your skills and qualifications as an Environmental Coordinator:

Essential:

Experience of reviewing and updating environmental sections of COMAH reports to the relevant current standards/guidance
Environmental qualifications (degree or equivalent)
A good understanding of sustainability with regards to new clean technologies
Ability to interpret site drawings and liaise with the drawing office to ensure they are updated as required
Knowledge of CDOIF requirements


Desirable:

Experience of dealing with external agencies
Knowledge of Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC)
Experience of working at an explosive site

Salary: GBP31,652
