LJMU are looking for a Telecommunications Manager with good IP PBX management skills, experience of contracts management and good general IT skills to work within the IT Services department. You should be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate extensive experience of managing a range of telecoms solutions. You will be expected provide strategic advice on Telecommunications related matters whilst still maintaining a hands-on role.
IT Services provide centralised IT services to all staff and students across the whole university to support all Academic, Administrative and Support functions. This post is part of the Networks Group reporting to the Network Manager. This is a 35 hours per week Mon-Fri post with occasional out-of-hours work required.
The University is currently out-to-tender for a Telephone & Unified Communications solution to replace the existing Unify (formerly Siemens) iSDX telephone system which serves 2,500 phones. The new solution will be an enterprise class on-premises IP-based solution.
You will be responsible for all aspects of telephony e.g.
· IP PBX services for up to 2,500 handsets
· Provision of switchboard, voicemail, contact centre
· PSTN connectivity (ISDN & SIP trunks)
· Management of mobile telephone contracts
· Management of external contractors
The University is keen to exploit new technologies to deliver more mobility, better collaboration and integration with other services (e.g. Active Directory, Email, CRM).
