Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

They currently have an opportunity available for a part time (14.8 hours per week) Lecturer in English to join them based at their Newcastle centre to ensure strong achievement of GCSE and Functional Skills English. Maternity cover contract – August 2017 until June 2018

Acting as a Course Manager for the English aspect of each learner’s individual learning plan and contributing to programmes within the general education area, you will carry out the responsibilities of a Lecturer and assist with the development of the curriculum within the Section. 

You must also take responsibility for supervising the behaviour and discipline of groups of learners on courses and conform to, and cooperate in, the execution of the College Strategic Plan.   

Educated to degree level or equivalent in English or in teaching English, you will hold current experience of successful delivery of GCSE English preferably within an FE context and recent experience of successful delivery of Functional Skills English also preferably within an FE context.
