ROLE

The General Manager / Business Manager / Dealer Managers role will report directly in to the Managing Director. This Strategic Management role will include full divisional responsibilities that include profit and loss, operations, man management, sales development, budget setting etc. The depots run 24/7, and will have 40-50 employees with 8 direct reports.

The role will be directly responsible for a team of Service Engineers, Workshop Engineers, Sales Manager, Parts distribution personnel, Service Supervisor, service administrators etc. This is a high profile customer facing role with full P&L responsibility and will be responsible for all aspects of Departmental Management and Business Development The roles will also involve dealing with retail customers, internal customers, end users & suppliers at Service Manager, Sales Manager, Engineering Manager, Director and Dealer Principle levels.

The role will require you to work with and enhance partner relationships with the existing customer base whilst generating new business opportunities through a customer facing strategy. The position will require you to manage and work with existing staff to ensure an enhanced team approach through dynamic leadership.

- Full management responsibilities for all business operations that include strategic planning, people management, sales management, budget setting & P&L for meeting financial and sales objectives
- Direct-line Manager of a Workshop Controller, Parts Supervisor, etc
- Analysing production and manufacturing processes with a view to improving efficiencies, reducing costs, increasing margins and duplicating working methods
- Drive forward efficiencies and improvements across the site
- Manage and work with existing staff to ensure an enhanced team approach through dynamic leadership
- Analysing Sites Efficiencies' and being responsible for developing a sustainable operational strategy across the division
- Accountability for rolling out Divisional operational initiatives
- Working closely with Managing Director to ensure that client KPIs are achieved and costs are being controlled

REQUIREMENTS

These rewarding roles demand many skills such as dynamic leadership, excellent communication, self-motivation and a positive 'can do' attitude. The successful applicant will preferably have a proven Management background, a strong service culture, proven people management and motivational skills and the ability to work in a very fast moving environment, where quick and positive decision making is very important. The ability to analysis facts and figures is important as is

Other associated qualifications or experience in business management would be an advantage.

- Strong, inspirational leader with the ability to lead, manage and motivate team members effectively.
- Intelligent individual with excellent interpersonal skills
- The role could suit somebody at this level already, or an individual who is looking to take the next step up with a progressive company who they can develop with
- Any knowledge of Lean Management and Continual Improvement processes (5S, JIT, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM and six sigma etc) could help but is not a pre-requisite
- Robust decision making, planning and organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead, supported by strong business and financial acumen, with excellent verbal, numerical and report writing skills
