Teaching Assistant SEND 12-15K

Start Date: 20th March 2017

There is currently an excitting opportunity to join the world of SEND. Are you an individual that can make a difference to the teaching and learning of the young and bright students currently placed in our specialist education settings. Students with SEND will often fail to reach the same standard as their mainstream peers. We are dedicated to closing the gap and providing the best experience possible. Do you posses the skills that can help close this gap and help schools maximise progress? Do you have a hobbie or interesting knowledge that will broaden the student?s horizons?

The school is based on the strong ethical ethos and it prides itself on providing the highest provision to students with a range of learning difficulties. The school is set in the beautiful rural area of south surrey and has excellent facilities. Students are from a mix of backgrounds and have a range of diverse needs. The school needs individuals that can offer students the correct support and experiences to enhance their education.

In this role as a Teaching Assistant you will be:-
> Responsible for ensuring learners are supported with educational and pastoral needs.
> Supporting the class teacher in an exciting learning environment.
> Supporting learners on a 1:1 base.
> Enabling learners to reach their full potential.
> Using your interests to engage learners.
> Supporting learners in a range of activities on and off site.

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:-
> Be able to work with learners that have learning difficulties and emotional needs.
> Have an understanding of general learning difficulties and associated conditions.
> Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
> Be confident to lead groups of students.
> The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
> Strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
> Be interested in various approaches to education.
