We are looking for a knowledgeable Benefits Assessor to join the team on a full time temporary basis for a period of approximately 2 months. Working a 37 hour week (Monday-Friday) in central Exeter, a generous rate of GBP10.74 is offered for this post with duties to include:
Undertaking assessments for all new claims and changes to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
Communicate with customers/claimants and identify signs of additional needs
Identify vulnerable customers/claimants who may need additional assistance and provide where appropriate
Identify and determine overpayments that are not recoverable and record on the system
Provide face to face, telephone and email guidance to all customer/claimants enquiries
