Distribution Manager, Interim 9 months, Bellshill, near Glasgow, Food Manufacturing

We have an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team as Distribution Manager for Scotland, based in Bellshill, near Glasgow, for a fixed term period of 9 months. Reporting into the General Manager, you will be accountable for a distribution function of 185 colleagues based across Bellshill, Eurocentral and Aberdeen Depots. The aim is to deliver a safe, efficient and effective distribution operation in order to ensure that quality products reach external and internal customers on time and in full.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong people management and leadership capability to develop and engage others ensuring the function delivers in all talent management, succession planning, and engagement activities.
  • Demonstrate your creativity and vision in the implementation of the distribution strategy, leading with strong ideas, clear focus and credibility.
  • Identify and manage the execution of Department based projects, ensuring the distribution department maintains the highest standards.
  • Maintain a strong culture for compliance with legislation, not only from a distribution perspective but also health and safety, quality and food safety, and policies and standards generally.
  • Achieve distribution targets and manage the operation to ensure that budgets and key cost ratios are achieved.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced professional that really knows what world class distribution looks like. You will have a proven track record of delivering distribution initiatives that will serve in enabling our great family business to continue to take strides forward over the next 5 years and beyond

  • Knowledge and experience of leadership in a similar size and complexity, ideally in FMCG.
  • Strong authentic and values driven leader and people manager.
  • Significant experience in warehousing and distribution systems and processes.
  • Transport and Health and Safety legislation knowledge. Certificate of Professional Competence of National Road Haulage.
