Job Title: Internal Sales Representative

Location: Abingdon

Salary: Commensurate with experience

The company is a leading European distributor of engineering polymer materials and commodity plastics. It has an international network and is a partner to many of the world's largest polymer producers. Serving a wide range of industries including; packaging, healthcare, electrical & electronic, construction, automotive and cosmetics, the company has an established presence in the market and is now entering a phase of growth.

Primary role:

To develop sales of the full product range to achieve agreed business targets and meet customer needs via structured telephone selling. Will need to create, build and establish relationships with key contacts at new customers whilst seeking and closing opportunities to grow sales of the Plastics product range.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and execute a pro-active sales campaign using industry and company databases and other available resources.
  • Agree prices and volumes with customers in order to obtain orders and achieve business growth.
  • Seek out, analyze and develop new accounts via telephone, promoting sales of the Plastics product range
  • Set and agree own annual sales budget with the Business Manager in line with business strategy
  • Provide cover for Customer Service function in times of absence etc
  • Gather, analyse, interpret and present market, product, competitor and industry data to enable development of the forward strategy of the business.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Business Manager and Product Managers in order to retain existing business and gain new business.

The person:

  • Telephone sales background
  • A willing "hunter" and an ability to close the deal
  • An attitude and capacity to learn technical products
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to self-start and self-manage - prioritizing workload and time management
  • Team player
