MOT Technician / Mechanic, Tavistock

Protyre are looking for a dedicated MOT Technician / Mechanic to join their centre in Tavistock who happy to provide mechanical support as well as completing MOTs.  

The Role
As MOT Technician / Mechanic you must be fully conversant with the latest standards and procedures for MOT testing, to include the issue of all relevant MOT documentation and ensure security with full compliance of the MOT certification procedure within the DVSA and company requirements.

With a professional attitude, the relevant qualifications (minimum NVQ3) and experience of carrying out servicing and repairs on vehicles, the successful candidate will also hold a full current driving licence.

Responsibilities as MOT Technician / Mechanic include:
•    Efficiently carry out class IV (Group B) vehicle inspections in accordance with the DVSA's procedures.
•    Complete all necessary documentation required and produce reports for the DVSA and the company.
•    Quality Control other MOT testers within the DVSA procedures.
•    Support the Centre Manager in all aspects of testing authority.
•    Routinely inspect, assess and maintain the MOT lane tools and equipment's serviceability to carry out MOT tests and to keep the facility clean and tidy.
•    Carry out the necessary level of annual training and assessment pass as per the DVSA mandatory regulations.

A high level of competence and focus is required in order to efficiently carry out the above duties.
Experience of operating an ATL (One man test lane) would be an advantage.

The Person
As MOT Technician / Mechanic for Protyre, you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer liaison and satisfaction skills and have the ability to sell an array of available services. With a flexible and positive approach you should be able to efficiently work under pressure.  You should be a keen team player with a focus on providing excellent customers service, good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.  You will need an eye for detail and must be literate and numerate.

As MOT Technician / Mechanic for Protyre, you will work 45 hours per week on a rota basis and there is a salary on offer of £18,000 to £24,000 per annum.
