Salary Range £19,939 - £24,717pa pro rata

Full time 37.5 hrs per week

The Whitechapel Centre’s mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing poverty by providing practical, realistic, tailored support so that each person can find a route out of homelessness, maintain a home and achieve their individual potential.

We have secured funding from the Big Lottery to expand our Older Persons’ Resettlement Service and are now seeking to recruit an Older Persons’ Housing Advice Worker in order to address some of the barriers and disadvantages experienced by homeless older people.

We are looking for an exceptional support worker who has a minimum of two years’ experience delivering effective services to people who are homeless or in housing need, supporting them to acquire and sustain accommodation appropriate to their needs and to become independent.

With a comprehensive understanding of housing and homelessness legislation and services, you will have experience of providing housing related advice and discharging individualised resettlement plans.  You will need to be highly organised with the confidence to work well in a multi-agency setting and to use your own initiative to make informed and effective decisions.

This post has been funded for 5 years. A full job description and person specification are available upon request.
