Operations Manager with proven CNC Milling experience

 

Based:                                Stansted Airport

Reporting to:                    Managing Director

Directly responsible for: CAD Team, Engineering and Planning, Production Control, Production.

Indirect reports:               Quality / Inspection

Our client provides advance manufacturing services to the Aerospace and Defence industries.

They are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager whose job purpose is to provide Operational leadership to the manufacturing CNC Milling machine shop teams to ensure that the Company meets and exceeds customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery.

Suitable to candidates from a CNC milling leadership management background to lead a large engineering, manufacturing team.

Required key skills / experience:

  • Ex Miller with extensive CNC hands on Milling experience.
  • Established Operations Manager with a record of achievement in leading and developing; CNC Milling teams, CAD teams, Production Control teams and Engineering team members.
  • Ability to organise teams across multi shifts and weekend working.
  • Proven knowledge of programing in 3 and 5 axis. System used; Open-mind ‘Hypermill’ with programing verification using Vericut. 
  • Sales driven, Quality motivated and Customer focused.
  • Must have an established track record in leading Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Aviation manufacturing experience is a prerequisite.
  • Flexible approach – basic Monday to Friday with weekend working the norm.
