Senior Manager / Head of Mobility Services with excellent people management and team leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and mentor your Management Team and Staff is required by a leading Charity based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, West Midlands.
SALARY: £42,800 - £45,300 per annum

DOGS: Due to the nature of the organisation there are frequently dogs on site. Therefore you must be comfortable with dogs in the workplace.
KEY REQUIREMENTS: Ideal candidates will have excellent leadership and staff management skills. You will also have experience devising business plans, managing costs and budgets and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained and exceeds the customers’ expectations.

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Manager / Head of Mobility Services that has excellent people management and team leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and mentor your Management Team and Staff.
Working as the Senior Manager / Head of Mobility Services you will lead the delivery of all the services to people with sight loss in line with the Charity’s strategy and five-year plan; based on local need and demographics.
As the Senior Manager / Head of Mobility Services you will also support the Charity’s work on a national, regional and local basis. In particular:
- Provide inspiring leadership to all local staff and volunteers
- Ensure the Charity make the most of every single donor £ they receive
- Actively manage quality, delivery, processes and cost to help the Charity to continually improve services
- Understand, deliver and improve the local outputs, outcomes and impact across each of the services
- Engage with local communities, local / devolved government and local partners in order to find ways to reach more people with sight loss with the services
- Support national initiatives that have a local impact and relevance

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Senior Manager / Head of Mobility Services:
- Actively role model and reinforce behaviours in line with the Charity’s values and competencies whilst leading, inspiring and directing a cross functional team to deliver the agreed business plan. Coach and mentor managers and staff in order to fully develop their skills and talents via personal development plans
- Champion diversity within the local team based on local demographics
- Ensure every volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience with the Charity
- Responsible for creating and reviewing resourcing plans to ensure that the team is resourced appropriately with staff and volunteers
- Ensure positivity and wellbeing of the team is actively supported
- Manage expenditure within the team so that services are delivered effectively and within budget to quality standards, delivery and cost metrics
- Identify new funding sources to support the sustainability and growth of services; working with national teams as appropriate to bid for and secure this funding
- Utilise local knowledge and expertise to devise business plans which align with the organisations wider strategy
- Responsible for developing bottom up targets based on local need; and agreeing these in the context of the organisation’s strategy and five-year plan
- Responsible for identifying improvements in the customer journey to ensure services are delivered in good time
- Improving the Quality and Delivery of services through stakeholder feedback and share to produce new, improved, standards
- Lead on all aspects of local stakeholder engagement, public relations and staff communications as well as utilising the skills within the team
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, utilising ‘lean’ tools to capture and resolve day-to-day problems (“better for now”) and develop options and solutions for the future (“better forever”)
- Ensure that the whole team adheres to the organisations policies and procedures paying special attention to: risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, diversity, data protection, financial procedures amongst others
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent team leadership and staff management skills
- Excellent organisational skills, working under pressure and to deadlines
- Able to lead on internal and external communications with effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Experience in working with the media with a range of communication techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
- Proven track record in leading and performance managing a multi-skilled / multidisciplinary team of staff, to achieve results balancing local needs against national priorities
- Developing and delivering a range of people centred services to external customers
- Experience of working in the third sector
- Experience of introducing major new initiatives/services
- An understanding of customer relations and meeting the needs of a variety of customers
- An understanding of the principles required for effective financial management
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Travel and overnight stays for meetings
- Eligibility to work in the UK
