Buyer (machined parts)??35-40kGloucestershire Key Words - Buyer, Purchasing, Sourcing, Machined Parts, Contract negotiation, Contract creation The main responsibilities are the development and implementation of sourcing activities, contract management and supplier relationship management. You will be required to implement and develop strategies to ensure the continuous supply of all out of production spare parts, to meet the supply chain objectives, which include challenging cost and lead time reduction. You will be flexible to work with any of the commodities (build to print, design to specification, forgings & raw material). Key responsibilities will include:* Supporting the Supply Chain Manager in defining the strategy for parts and vendors ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements and expectations* Negotiate and implement contractual and commercial arrangements with selected vendors* Identifying opportunities to improve all aspects of supplier performance and to drive cost out of the supply chain, including working closely with the global commodity teams* Participating in continuous improvement activities both locally and globally* Support market research including low cost opportunities, benchmarking of the supply chain and new technology* Identify opportunities that focus on cost reductions, improvement of efficiency and risk mitigation* Establish effective relationships with suppliers* Maintaining standard costs, lead times and supplier price agreements* When necessary supporting other team members with day to day activities In order to effectively carry out this role, you will need to be required to demonstrate the following competencies* Strategic and commercial awareness* Proven Sourcing Experience* Ability to understand engineering requirements and drawings* Analytical, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills Ideally, you will be qualified to degree level in industrial engineering or business administration (or equivalent) with a focus on supply chain management. You must possess proven experience in contract negotiation and international sourcing with a strong understanding of business operations. You must be proactive and able to take the initiative in complex environments and must also be willing to travel (UK, Europe and worldwide).
