Resourcing Advisor - Scottish Prison Service
Our goal is to make Scotland safer by protecting the public and reducing reoffending. We achieve this by ensuring delivery of secure custody; safe and ordered prisons; decent standards of care; and opportunities for those citizens in our care to develop in a way that helps them to successfully integrate with the community on release. You will have a positive and valuable contribution to play in attracting and securing high calibre candidates into roles across the SPS, to make this happen.
SPS is on a demanding and ground-breaking journey of reform; rethinking the nature, practice and purpose of custody. We are focussed on delivering the skilled, professional and flexible workforce needed for this journey and to help us achieve this, we are looking for a confident, motivated and enthusiastic team member to join our team of resourcing professionals based within our College in Polmont, Falkirk.
Responsible for the co-ordination and facilitation of the end to end in-house recruitment process for a range of internal and external vacancies, the role encompasses:
- Management of the recruitment process for a range of internal and external vacancies from preparation and advertising through to candidate screening, selection and placement.
- Input into the design and implementation of campaigns, ensuring they meet the needs of the business and also comply with SPS policies and relevant legislation.
- Engage and provide guidance, support and feedback to candidates and managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Work in partnership with others to enhance and develop recruitment strategies and techniques and assist with on-going project work as required.
You will need:
- Proven experience of working in a customer focussed environment.
- Competent and experienced in all aspects of administration, using MS Office packages.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- CIPD Certificate in HR Practice, or willing to attain within 18 months of taking up the role.
- Experience in a recruitment or HR role would be advantageous but not essential.
Benefits include: Civil Service pension, generous annual leave entitlement, free onsite parking and free gym facilities
