Teacher in Functional Skills
Salary: £26,399 - £30,710 depending on experience
Hours: 37 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, creative and enthusiastic teacher of Functional Skills English and/or maths to join our Functional Skills and GCSE team. You will be teaching Functional Skills to fulltime learners who are on a range of vocational courses within a FE environment.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment to students, to maximise achievement and the improvement of skills. You will provide guidance and support to vocational tutors to embed Functional Skills into their curriculum. An ability to manage time effectively to complete workload and achieve Key Performance Indicators is essential, as are flexibility and being receptive to new ideas and approaches.
The successful candidate will be a level 5 qualified teacher (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, QTLS) with a minimum level 3 subject specific qualification in English or maths. Significant successful teaching experience and contribution to course design and curriculum development in Functional Skills programmes is essential.
