Our client is a long-established and successful global corporate housing agent and provider based in South West London; they are the leading European booking agent for serviced apartments, offering solutions worldwide to clients requiring an efficient, cost effective solution to their temporary accommodation requirements.

Our client is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer / General Operations Support to support the general running of the operations department.

A keen and flexible approach is vitally important to this role which may involve a variety of tasks. The appointed individual will be expected to work on a lieu-time basis where evening and weekend working will be required at regular times.

You will have a pleasant and friendly disposition with excellent communication skills, this is really vital as meeting their guests is a key part of this position.

You must have a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle - being a car driver is essential. Please note on your CV whether you have a valid UK licence.

You must also live within easy driving distance, of between 5-10 miles of Chessington to be considered for this position

The role itself will involve responsibility for a variety of operations tasks; the successful candidate will be positive in responding to any reasonable request given in accordance with the day-to-day requirements of the department and will be quick to respond to these requests.

Maintenance:

• To be responsible for general maintenance across their apartment portfolio.
• A broad knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and handyman type issues.

Out – of – Hours:

• The operations department provide an out-of-hours emergency service to in-house guests, which is covered by a rota system by the maintenance team.
• The out-of-hours service is responsible for taking emergency calls and responding to them accordingly. In certain circumstances this will involve visiting guests that have emergency issues.
• The candidate will be expected to cover the out of hour’s service on a regular rota system.

Key Skills:

• Experience in painting and decorating.
• A practical knowledge of how to check the heating systems and hot water.
• Excellent DIY skills is a must.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical installations preferred.
• Be able to work in an organised fashion.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Positive, friendly/ professional and polite manner.
• Flexibility in working hours.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Be flexible in your approach to work.
• Be articulate and well presented.
• Must have a full / clean UK driving license and use of own vehicle.
• Have good command of the English language.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible with time and on occasion be able to work some weekends and evenings.

Salary: Negotiable, Depending on Experience
Location: Chessington/ Tolworth
Reports To: Guest Liaison Manager
Holidays: 21 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
