Our client is seeking a Buyer to join a busy team. The successful candidate will have 2 years purchasing experience and MRP experience

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsibility for the supply chain functions to ensure that materials are provided to point of use to the quality and timescales required by the business.

KEY TASKS

  • Running the MRP programme on a periodic basis and using the system generated output to monitor production shortages.
  • Placing of purchase orders required across all Mi3 production sites to minimise production shortages.
  • Maintaining the supplier records and stock ordering parameters within the EFACS system.
  • To perform regular systematic expediting of the order book to ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Monitoring and ordering of consumable & stock (in conjunction with Production & Warehouse Department’s weekly stock check) and to action the stock adjustments on the EFACS system to reflect this usage.
  • Manage direct deliveries of components to sub-contract suppliers (in conjunction with the Planner).
  • Ensuring all sub-contract (sterilisation operators, Arrow sub-contract & free issue component suppliers) purchase orders and works orders are placed as per operational requirements and the management of the Free Issue stock held off site.
  • Calculation of supplier evaluation KPI (in conjunction with Materials Manager).

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience of working with ERP systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience for both commodity and purchase to company specification items.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of supplier liaison to expedite deliveries and resolve quality and delivery issues.
  • Demonstrated skills in sourcing suppliers through market research and competitive tender exercises.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of all MS Office & MS Outlook software products.
  • Good multi-tasker who is comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills so that they can liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
  • High level of tenacity in order to overcome problems which put production plans at risk.
  • Experience of working within a controlled quality system such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485.

 

Desirable:

  • Familiar with Efacs ERP system.
  • Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
  • Has worked in a medical devices or pharmaceutical manufacturing business.
  • 3 years in a purchase to specification role using an international supplier base.
  • Formal training in purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Trained as an internal auditor for either ISO 9001 or ISO 13485.
  • Intermediate level MS Excel skills to facilitate analysis of data exported from Efacs.
  • Training in negotiation skills.
