Crops technician - Tractor driver - Machinery Operator - Grower
An exciting and diverse role is available working for a well-known vegetable research and plant breeding company in Surrey. You will be working as part of the crops and trials team ensuring that all vegetable trials and seed crops are a success from start to finish.
You will spend much of your time operating modern New Holland T4 and T5 tractors, tillage equipment, managing hose reel irrigation systems, direct seeding and transplanting crops as well as applying crop nutrients. As part of a small outdoor crops team you will have a wide variety of tasks and the opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge about land management, crops, production and the vegetable seed industry.
In time and after the appropriate training you will also be expected to apply plant protection products from a tractor mounted sprayer.
If you are interested in working outdoors and are comfortable operating a range of vehicles and machinery then this incredibly varied, rewarding and enjoyable role could be for you.
Ideally you will have some experience operating ride on machinery and have already worked in Horticulture/Agriculture or a related industry. But, the right attitude and willingness to learn could get you a long way as training will be provided.
Applicants must have a driver’s license, have a good level of spoken English, and be able to carry out physical work.
Full time contract.
39 hours per week + overtime.
24 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
