Training 2000 is a charitable trust set up by a consortium of Lancashire businesses and is now one of the largest Group Training Associations in England, with over 50 years' experience of delivering high quality work-based learning and training programmes to industry and individuals. We have grown to around 240 staff and many centres across the North West and other areas of the UK, working with national employers across a wide range of sectors, whilst maintaining local support.

We currently have a vacancy available for a Functional Skills Tutor.

About the Role:

Are you passionate about the development of Maths and English with young people?

We are looking for committed and inspirational tutors to join our existing team, the aim of the role is to present English, Maths and ICT to learners in a way that engages them and captivates them. The focus will be on making English and Maths come alive and to make it real and vocational and to demonstrate practical ways in which learners can use this in the workplace.

The role requires dedicated and passionate people who have a desire to see Maths and English at the heart of what we can instil in the future working population.

In return you get the opportunity to shape the destiny of a huge number of young people and to change the way in which English and Maths are both delivered and perceived.

Delivery will include English, Maths & ICT from Entry levels up to GCSE. Delivery could consist of additional learning support, Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications.

The successful candidates will be responsible for classroom and one-to-one delivery ensuring learner progress is monitored and recorded and will contribute significantly to the whole learner journey. A specialism in one area is an advantage but a general ability to deliver elements of all core subjects is preferred.

The position is based at Training 2000’s Blackburn site, but will involve an amount of travel across Lancashire to other Training 2000 sites. Therefore a current driving licence and availability of a vehicle (for which mileage is paid at 40p per mile) is essential.

The working hours for this role are 37.5 per week; 8.00am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 12.30pm on Fridays, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break Monday to Thursday.

Requirements:

You need to be committed, passionate and driven to deliver the company’s objective of an Amazing place with Amazing people!

You will require appropriate English and Maths qualifications, excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills.

The successful candidate must possess a recognised teaching qualification and experience of teaching English and/or Maths.
