Job Title: Payroll Manager

Location: Surrey

Job Hours: This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although you will be required to work the hours necessary to complete the job.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing business, managing their various payrolls. The company is a well-known retailer and manufacturer with over 700 employees.

The Payroll Manager reports directly to the Financial Controller.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team ensuring that employees and CIS registered contractors are paid correctly in line with current legislation. We run a weekly payroll and a monthly payroll and you will work closely with the small Finance and HR teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Your daily tasks include heading up and supervising the Payroll team to ensure employees and sub-contractors are paid correctly. You will also work closely with other members of the small Finance team which is based in 2 locations and have direct telephone contact with other departments across the Company. These duties will include ensuring that all relevant data is inputted into the appropriate payroll and or purchase ledger systems, calculation and payment of expenses, VAT payments and a variety of reporting, reconciliations and submission of statutory returns.

The Candidate:

You will have proven knowledge and experience of payroll and CIS systems including year-end and be able to calculate manual payroll payments. You'll need to be a good communicator, confident at dealing with people on the telephone and managing and developing your team. You will be numerate and computer literate with first-class Excel skills at an advanced level including Pivot and Look up tables. Organised and efficient, you will have a good eye for detail.
