An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils. We are currently looking for an Environmental Management Officer to come and join our team on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £23,935 - £29,033 per annum plus benefits. The office bases for this post will be Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall, with flexibility expected as work requirements dictate.

We are working together to provide a shared service and single officer structure across our two authorities, which makes for an exciting and varied working environment in a beautiful part of Suffolk.

Working as part of our highly experienced and busy team, you will be involved in a wide range of environmental management work across West Suffolk.

About the Environmental Management Officer role

Your day to day role will involve carrying out environmental audits; analysing data and preparing reports; investigating and remedying non-compliance; working collaboratively with and supporting our customers, businesses and other partners to bring about environmental improvements; and participating in new ways of working.

You will be innovative, enthusiastic and committed to providing a high quality service, having an appreciation of the contribution that can be made to the wider environmental agenda.  You will need to be motivated, flexible and committed to personal development and able to manage a large and varied work load.  You need to be comfortable working in busy and challenging environments and be prepared to work outside of normal office hours on occasion.
